Decent for starting out, but be careful with add-ons

I was looking to transfer my domain from Namecheap over to BlueHost and their referral link made the initial hosting pretty affordable. The domain transfer itself was fairly straightforward, but when I got to the checkout, the pricing for some of the add-ons like SiteLock Security was a bit higher than I anticipated, even with the promo code fields available. It still works for what I need, but I wish the extra costs were clearer upfront.

Good hosting, slow setup

I recently signed up for their shared hosting introductory offer with a free domain. The pricing was really competitive, which was a big plus. Setting up my website was fairly straightforward, and the performance has been stable since. However, it took a bit longer than I expected to get everything fully configured and running smoothly. Customer support was helpful when I reached out, but responses weren't immediate.

Fantastic WordPress hosting!

I got the managed WordPress hosting and it's been an absolute dream! My site loads super fast and I didn't have to worry about any of the technical stuff. The dashboard is really user-friendly. I'm definitely going to use Bluehost again for my next project and tell all my friends about it!

Consistent service, reliable

I've used Bluehost for a few years now for several of my smaller sites. This time I renewed my professional email service and bought another domain. Their pricing structure has always been clear, and I appreciate the consistency. I know what to expect. My sites have always been up, and I haven't had any major issues with downtime, which is why I keep coming back.

Decent value, few hiccups

I decided to go with their shared hosting plan after seeing the introductory offer. The signup process was quick and I appreciated the free SSL certificate that came with it. I also registered a domain name. Migrating my existing site was a bit clunky, and I had to contact support for assistance with some DNS settings. They responded within a few hours and helped me sort it out, but it wasn't as seamless as I hoped. The control panel is intuitive enough for basic tasks, and the site's uptime has been good so far. For the price, it's a solid option, just be prepared to do a little troubleshooting if you're migrating an older site.

Easy to get started

Needed a domain and hosting for a small project, just some basic shared hosting. Bluehost was pretty easy to navigate, signed up in a few minutes. Got the free domain with it which was nice. Everything just worked, which is all I really wanted. No fuss.

Can you stack coupon codes on Bluehost? Got a promo email but also saw another deal online.

T Troy 2 months ago
Nah, pretty sure you can't stack them. It's usually one discount per order, especially for new sign-ups.
2
T Todd 2 months ago
AFAIK, they don't let you stack. You usually have to pick the best offer. The system usually just takes the best one or ignores the second code.

Any chance of scoring a Black Friday deal on Bluehost? Or should I just jump on one of their current intro offers?

J Julia Whitfield 3 months ago
Oh, for sure. They always have massive Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. If you can wait, that's probably the best time to buy.

R Raj M. 2 months ago
I'd wait if you can. The Black Friday deals are usually their best of the year, sometimes even better than the regular intro offers.

Can I really get a free domain with my hosting package? Or is that like, a limited time thing or for specific plans only?

C Cleo V. 2 months ago
Most of their hosting plans, especially the shared ones, come with a free domain for the first year. It's usually part of the intro offer.

Yep, got my free domain when I signed up for shared hosting. Just be aware you'll have to pay to renew it after the first year.

What's the deal with their money-back guarantee? Is it easy to actually get your money back if you cancel early?

M Marcus Reyes 2 months ago
I canceled within the 30 days once, got my money back no problem. Just know they don't refund for domain registration fees, only the hosting.

M Marcus A. 2 months ago
Yeah, they honor it within the first 30 days. It's pretty straightforward, but like the other person said, don't expect your domain fee back.

Thinking of switching from GoDaddy. Is Bluehost actually better or is it just more of the same headaches?

T Todd 2 months ago
Oh man, I moved from GoDaddy to Bluehost years ago. Way better support in my experience, and the cPanel is much easier to navigate.

Honestly, 'better' is subjective. Some folks swear by SiteGround over both. Bluehost is okay, but I wouldn't say it's leagues above some competitors unless you're really into their specific features.
